Skiiing

The winter begins in autumn in the Bregenzerwald, when the cows and the farmers return to the valley, when the forests show themselves in beautiful colours – then you know the year is coming to an end. We look forward to Christmas and the wonderful winter days, and powder snow and cosy evenings.. 

Skiing in Bregenzerwald – It’s not all about 100s of kilometres of piste, “mega” or “razzmatazz”. Skiers value the Bregenzerwald for the sporty and familiar ski region, the 259 kilometres of ski slopes offer something for every taste and ability. Modern lifts, cosy mountain restaurants and wonderful viewpoints all help in making the perfect ski day even better..

All ski areas plus several in the neighbouring valleys are included on the 3 valley ski pass. The largest of them - the ski resort of Mellau-Damüls – is only 5km away from the Sonne Bezau, and provides everything you could wish for – wonderful descents, panoramic ski routes, free-ride slopes, children’s lifts and a fun park – skiing fun for every taste is guaranteed. The free ski bus stops directly in front of the hotel, children are driven with the hotels own kids taxi to the ski school and back.

Cross country skiers can enjoy the approx. 300 kilometres of tracks, and those not wishing to ski or cross country ski will be delighted with the 400 km of well prepared, pink sign posted winter walking paths!
